Kivio is now officially part of KOffice and the code is in the KOffice CVS. Links to this site are provided in the KOffice web site. This also means that bug reports, problems and enhancement requests are tracked through bugs.kde.org.
Please note: While Kivio is a GPL application, all the stencil sets provided by theKompany.com, including the basic stencil shapes bundled with Kivio are copyrighted and owned by theKompany.com. All information and images provided are copywritten and cannot be used in part or in whole for any other work, including free or commercial stencil sets. You are free to create your own stencil sets from your own work.

Kivio releases can be downloaded from http://www.koffice.org/install-binaries.phtml.
Current release
The latest release is 1.0 from 13 April 2001. You can find packages and sources here.
Packages for Red Hat (6.2 and 7.0), Mandrake (7.2 and Cooker), Suse, LinuxPPC, Debian (Woody and Potato) and Slackware are available on the KOffice site, as well as the whole source code.
New features in 0.9.2:
- Printing support
- RMB menus now works on more tools
- Double clicking a stencil now directly edits text
- Size and position actions have been moved off the toolbar and onto a dock window
- Snap to grid is now implemented for dragging and resizing
- Added a preferences dialog section for setting and saving environment preferences
- Enhanced zooming ability including a "birds eye view" panel to see your entire page
- Various minor changes and bug fixes
Installation notes
The software is based on KDE 2.0 (better 2.0.1 or 2.1beta1), so you need it installed. That means you also need QT 2.2.1 (better 2.2.2 or 2.2.3). Other than that, there are no other requirements to run Kivio.
Stencil installation
To install stencils for Kivio, simply follow these instructions:

Each set of stencils will come in it's own archive file, you wil want to download these to the Kivio stencil directory, which is here:
$KDEDIR/share/apps/kivio/stencils

When you unzip the archive, the appropriate directory structure will be created. It will look like this:
$KDEDIR/share/apps/kivio/stencils/Flowcharting/Basic_Flow_Charting/*
$KDEDIR/share/apps/kivio/stencils/Standard/Basic_Shapes/*
$KDEDIR/share/apps/kivio/stencils/Electric/Circuit/*
etc...
Kivio will automatically find your stencils and add them to the available pool.
