When you buy tkPhone you get both the stand alone and plug in for Aethera for one price.
tkPhone is a SIP based Voice over IP (VoIP) application for the Linux desktop. What does that mean and why is it interesting? Well with VoIP you are able to make phone calls between computers without any fees whatsoever beyond the cost of the internet connection. You can make phone calls from your Linux desktop to an actual telephone by making use of our exclusive arrangement with iConnectHere for as little as 2.9¢ per minute from anywhere in the world to the United States. There is an enormous potential for saving money, especially within corporations that have geographically diverse installations. You are already paying for your Internet access -- why pay extra for the phone when you don't have to?
tkPhone uses the latest technology with the most highly optimized codecs to get maximum clarity and minimum CPU and bandwidth usage. We even use the Speex codec that is part of the Xiph umbrella of audio tools.
