mac:ODBC is a binary distribution of the popular unixODBC Project. mac:ODBC has been compiled on Mac OS X for OS X users and includes documentation specifically geared towards the OS X user.

Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) is a sub-system for your favourite operating system. ODBC allows you to gain access to a wide variety of databases with an easy to use Administration tool set. ODBC is, by far, the most widely adopted specification for accessing databases from vendors as varied as; Oracle, Sybase, IBM, MySQL and PostgreSQL. Thousands of tools and applications support ODBC as a means of; importing/exporting, querying, and editing data.
