tkcRadio

tkcRadio is the perfect compliment to our tkcPlayer product.
You might ask why it's a separate product, well according to
a survey of our customers, they preferred to have more,
lower priced, special purpose applications so they could
just get what they wanted, otherwise the price for tkcPlayer
would go up and you might not use all the features.
You can also purchase access to our online database
(advanced catalog) of organized and categorized radio
stations. With about 1,000 radio stations (and growing)
in the organized online index, you are sure to find music
you enjoy.
When you open tkcRadio you will see this screen:
 Button Explanations:
 Play
 Favorites: This toggles between your favorites and the pre-set catalog list.
 URL: Tap this to manually enter a URL for a station.
 Delete: Tap this to delete selected station from list.
 Options: Tap to adjust buffering and time out.
General Operations:
If you tap on you can toggle between the pre-set basic station catalog and the stations you have added. You can also purchase the advanced catalog for 4.95, which has many more pre-set stations. The advanced catalog purchase allows you to dynamically access the online database of stations, which will be updated frequently as we discover new stations.
Pre-set stations catalog view: (basic or advanced catalog - I have the advanced catalog installed):
Note: The catalog view has an extra icon, the  icon. There are 2 options in the menu that pops up: Reload and Add to Favorites.
Reload will reload your catalog of stations.
Add to Favorites will add a selection from the catalog to your Favorites list, which you get to by tapping .
Tap on a Category and you'll see a list of the stations in that category. For this example I picked Jazz:
Tap on the station you want to listen to and then tap to play:
Tap  to stop playing the station.
To adjust the size of the buffer and the timeout, tap the icon and an options screen will pop-up:

Adding Stations
If you find a station not in the pre-set station catalog, you can add it yourself. Tap on , which pops up a URL window:
Enter the URL of the station, then tap OK and your station will appear in your Favorites list:
Tap to select your choice and then tap .
How to add advanced catalog:
You can purchase access to our online database of stations (advanced catalog). This will add many more stations to your catalog of pre-set stations.
Download the advanced catalog file (keyfile) from your download basket. Once you've installed tkcRadio, you should have a directory /home/root/tkcRadio. In that directory, you should see a file called "catalog". Just copy the keyfile into the tkcRadio directory. (your path to tkcRadio directory may vary according to your installation paths (SD, CF, other roms)
Open tkcRadio and tap to get to the Basic catalog. Then tap the icon, and tap Reload from the menu. Make sure you do this from the top level of the catalog. If you do it from inside a category it will only refresh that category, not the entire catalog.
Note: If you find other stations not in the list, please submit them to: info@thekompany.com.
With your submission, please include the URL, the Category and whether the station plays ogg or mp3 format. Please test your URL with tkcRadio before submission. Your submissions will then be added to the catalog database.
