Tap this to see more options:
The first time you open tkcMail, you will see this screen:
 Creating Mail Accounts:
Create New Identity:
To set up mail accounts, tap on the
icon. Then tap the Options icon
.
You’ll see this screen:
Tap on “Create
new identity” button. Enter the name you want to give the
identity. I chose “Home” for my home mail account:
Tap OK. Enter your name
and email address:
Associate
with send profile:
Tap the ? button and the following help information is displayed:
Enabling this option
allows a send profile to be selected automatically, based on the
identity currently in use. This will affect what happens when you are
composing a message and press the “Send” button.
Without this option
enabled, if you have more than one Send Profile, you will be asked
which to use for delivering the message.
With this option
enabled, the Send Profile you have chosen for association with this
identity will be automatically selected and the message will be
delivered according to the information therein.
If you wish to be asked
which send profile (and therefore outgoing server) should be used
every time you send a message, leave this option unchecked.
Associate
with IP option:
Tap the ? button next
to this option and the following help information will be displayed:
When this option is
activated and the computer’s IP (network) address matches that
given, this identity will become the default when composing.
This is useful if you
connect to networks where your IP address is given automatically (via
DHCP) and may be different every time you connect to that network.
You may provide a full IP address or leave some numbers as 0 (zero)
to denote “any”.
As an example, assume
that you connect to a network where addresses of the form
“192.168.1.n” are given out and “n” may be
different every time you connect.
TkcMail will recognize
that you are connected to this network if you specify 192.168.1.0.
Setting Storage Option:
Tap the Storage tab on
the Settings screen:
Choose the location
where you want your mail stored.
Setting up Mail account:
Tap the Receiving tab on the Settings screen. Tap “Create new account” button:
POP is select as there
is currently no IMAP support (coming soon!). Enter a name for the
mail account. Tap OK. The next screen is the “Configure
Account” screen:
Enter your mail server
name (incoming mail), username and password. This won’t
normally change even if your internet connection changes. You can
also select the options to remove downloaded messages from server and
to use SSL on this screen. Tap OK after entering your relevant
information.
Creating
a Send Profile:
This setting allows you
to set multiple Send profiles. If you send email from home you will
want a send profile reflecting your ISP’s outgoing mail server.
If you connect from work, you’ll need another one for sending
mail from that location.
Tap the Sending tab on the Settings screen:
Tap “Create new
send profile” button:
Pick a name for the
Send profile. Each send profile must have a unique name. I called
mine “Home”. Tap OK.
Enter the outgoing mail
server name. You can also set your authentication information on this
screen.
Setting Display options:
Tap the “Display
tab on the Settings screen:

Set the display options
to your preferences.
Once you have set all
your mail accounts and profiles, tap OK in the upper right corner of
the Settings screen.
This takes you back to
your Message view screens. If you tap on the button that says
“Local/Drafts”, you’ll see the other mail folders,
Inbox, Outbox, Sent and Trash:
 Downloading Mail:
Tap on the
icon on the top bar. This will bring up a screen where you can pick
some download options such as setting the maximum size of messages to
be downloaded or the maximum number of messages to download. Pick the
options that suit you and then tap the “Start download”
button. I selected Maximum messages of 10.
While your email is
downloading, a status screen appears:
 Viewing Email:
Choose “Local/Inbox
from the drop-down below the top icon bar. The default is a split
screen where you view the list of emails at the top, and tap to
select an email to view below:
If you tap the
icon, it toggles to full screen. To view an email in full screen, tap
and hold on the email you want to view.
