The backup software that is included with Qtopia is not really robust enough to do sophisticated backup and restore operations, it simply grabs everything on the device and provides no method to select certain files or restore certain files, this is the gap that tkcBackup fills. With tkcBackup you are able to create and save multiple criteria for backing up, maybe it is your application data, or config files, etc. You can also add comments to a backup so that you know exactly what was involved with the backup. You can browse the contents of a backup and selectively restore files if you want.
