 SL5600 - Installing theKompany.rom ROM
- Download the latest ROM Image, kernel and updater for your unit (initrd.bin, zImage and updater.sh). The files will have some numbers after the name (ex. initrd.bin-tkrom-x.x-slxx00, zImage-tkrom-x.x-slxx00 or updater.sh-slxx00).
- Rename the kernel, ROM image and updater files to initrd.bin, zImage and updater.sh
- Copy file to root of FAT formatted CF or SD card.
- Put CF or SD card into Zaurus.
- Plug the Zaurus into AC power.
- Flip switch on back of Zaurus to "Replace battery", remove the battery cover.
- While holding the "OK" button on the SL-5600, press "On/Off" button to turn on the SL-5600 in Maintenance Menu mode.
- Hit "4. Update" then choose CF or SD depending on what you chose to install from. The zaurus will reboot into Flash Linux where it will flash install the ROM image and kernel on the device.
- Where it says "Please Restart", hit the hard reset button in the battery compartment.
- Replace the battery cover and flip switch back to Normal operaton.
- While holding the "OK" button on the SL-5600, press "On/Off" button to turn on the SL-5600 in Maintenance Menu mode agian and got to format.
- Turn on the Zaurus and Follow On-screen instructions to configure the Zaurus. (NOTE: It takes a little while to boot up on the first boot as ssh keys are generated)
 SL5x00 - Installing theKompany.rom ROM
- Download the latest ROM Image and kernel for your unit (initrd.bin and zImage). The ROM image and kernel will have some numbers after the name (ex. initrd.bin-tkrom-x.x-slxx00 and zImage-tkrom-x.x-slxx00).
- Rename the files to initrd.bin and zImage
- Copy file to root of FAT formatted CF card.
- Put CF card into Zaurus.
- Plug the Zaurus into AC power.
- Flip switch on back of Zaurus to "Replace battery", remove the battery cover.
- Hold down the C + D keys on the keyboard and push the hard resent button in the battery compartment. The Mail and Battery lights will turn on (solid, not flashing). They will remain on for approximately 3 minutes, then both lights will go off.
- Hit the hard reset button in the battery compartment.
- Replace the battery cover and flip switch back to Normal operaton.
- Turn on the Zaurus and Follow On-screen instructions to configure the Zaurus. (NOTE: It takes a little while to boot up on the first boot as ssh keys are generated)
